Pushkar is located in the Aravalli Valley of Central Rajasthan boardering Ajmer. It between two major cities of Rajasthan - Jaipur (140 km) and Ajmer (13 km). It is a holy city. Rajasthan Travel Corporation runs comfortable deluxe buses with 15 minutes’ frequency connecting Jaipur and Ajmer. You can also fly up to Jaipur and then travel in a taxi to reach gritty sands of Pushkar. Both Ajmer and Jaipur are well connected to all major destinations of the country by rail. Pushkar is a relatively small town and it is easy enough to loiter around on foot. Visit Pushkar during Kartik Purnima ( Full Moon Day ) in October-November Duration and particiate in Pushkar Fair which lasts for 12 days.

Places to visit in the this holy city are sacred Pushkar Lake, Temples of Brahma, Varaha and Aptaeshwar. The unique tourist attraction is the Pushkar fair. The Participation in Camel Fair in Pushkar is thrilling. You can enjoy camel ride and can enjoy and even join in Folk Song and Dances performed by Gujjar Folks. There is a word of caution too for tourists. Non-Veg. food and Alcohol are prohibited inside Pushkar. Tourists are advised to pickup a pair of Camel Leather Shoes from the local market for a comfortable walk.

Rail : Ajmer Junction -11 km / 15 mins. Ajmer Shatabdi Train from Delhi and Jaipur.
Road : Pushkar is on NH-89, 11 km off NH-8 that connects Delhi and Mumbai. 15 mins from Ajmer, 2 ½ hrs from Jaipur, 7 ½ hrs from Delhi.
Important Distances : 400 km SW of Delhi, 154 km SW of Jaipur, 11 km NW of Ajmer.

Brahma Temple:


Brahma Temple It is the abode of the "Creator". It stands amidst lush green hills and wrapped around a scintillating lake. It is an architectural marvels with onion domes and ornate jaalis. The heavy carved doors opens up to greet you into the beautiful courtyards decorated with murals.

Pushkar Fair

Pushkar is a hoy city with rhythmic beats of spirituality. The cultural milieu of Rajasthan is best revealed through its magical Pushkar Fair.

The Pushkar fair in Rajasthan is a famous 12 days’ fiesta with gregarious events and state sponsored frivolities. Rajasthani myths are revealed in folk songs, dances and short skits. Storytellers, hypnotic acrobats, snake charmers and monkey trainers all crowd in this kaleidoscopic parley of folks, held during Fair.
It is a Fest you cannot see anywhere.
